LoposAlert wearable

LoposAlert is a wearable from Lopos that uses ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to automatically measure the distance between people and/or material handling equipment such as forklifts. It alerts them immediately if they come closer than the required distance through sound, vibration and LED light.

LoposAlert wearable benefits

Configurability

LoposAlert can be configured using our app which connects to the LoposAlert wearable by Bluetooth. The collision warning parameters, such as distance, can be adjusted. You can even personalize the types (sound, vibration, light) and number of alerts you receive. LoposAlert can be easily reconfigured if internal policies change.

Extremely accurate

In contrast to wearables that use conventional Bluetooth or Wi-Fi signals for location tracking, LoposAlert uses ultra-wideband. UWB measures distances much more accurately, with an error margin of less than 15 centimetres. Bluetooth, in comparison, has an error margin of 2 to 5 metres. This means there are no false alarms when using LoposAlert. The wearable only alerts when you actually get too close.

Ready to use

Simply switch on the LoposAlert wearable and you’re ready to go. There is no expensive infrastructure required such as beacons or gateways.

No privacy issues

LoposAlert does not log any information whatsoever – no personal data or location details – and is therefore GDPR compliant by design.

Features

Ultra-wideband

Ultra-wideband technology

LoposAlert uses revolutionary ultra-wideband radio technology. Emitting low-energy signals at high speeds and bandwidth, UWB is uniquely suited for a location- and distance-tracking wearable compared to other wireless technologies such as Bluetooth.

Three alarm types

Three alarm types

LoposAlert has multiple types of alarms that are activated when workers are potentially in danger: there is an audible beep (100 dBA), a vibration, and an LED light. Administrators can choose to use just one of these alarms or any combination of the three at the same time.

Feedback

Immediate and accurate feedback

The distance is measured 10 times per second with an accuracy of 10 cm (4 inch). Which means there is an instant alarm in case of danger.

Long battery life

Long battery life

LoposAlert has a battery life 2 to 5 days on a single battery charge. It takes just three hours to fully charge the device with the USB cable supplied.

Always active

Always active

To ensure safe distancing is respected at all times, LoposAlert cannot be switched off while in use as standard. Employees cannot switch the device off to prevent alarms from being triggered if they do not keep their distance. It is only switched off during charging or if it’s not used for a couple of hours.

Scalability

No interference

LoposAlert is optimized for high-volume deployments and does not suffer from interference. No matter how many devices are active in the same area, they will not interfere with one another.

Configure your LoposAlert wearables with our free mobile app

You can customize the settings of your LoposAlert wearables with our free mobile app. The following can be configured:

  • Alarm distance (default: 1.5 metres)
  • Alarm type: sound, vibration, LED light or a combination of these (default: all three)
  • Alarm latency: how fast should the wearables activate the alarm? You can add a latency to this, so the alarm doesn’t go off when passing each other in a hallway, for instance (default: 1 second)
  • Device firmware update: when we release new firmware with new features, you can update your LoposAlert wearables using the configuration app
  • Inter alarm delay: once the alarm activates, the inter alarm delay determines how frequent the alarm sounds. If set to 10 seconds, the alarm will activate every 10 seconds for as long as the wearables are too close (default: 1 second)
  • Multiple alarms: you can for instance set a vibration alarm for 2 metres and a sound alarm for 1.5 metres. Or a LED light and vibration alarm that activate immediately, combined with a sound alarm that activates after 5 seconds
  • Whether or not the users can turn off the wearable using the button (default: no)
  • Whether ‘mouth mask mode’ is allowed: when it is, your employees can work close together if necessary. They should then wear a mouth mask, put the wearable on mouth mask mode and the alarm will not activate for 5 minutes (configurable) (default: no)
  • Turn on by movement: when taking the wearable out of the charger, it automatically turns on because of the movement
